You win by carefully selecting one product to purchase at a time!

Over time, too much fat, sodium (salt), sugar and refined carbohydrates may negatively impact your health which is why I suggest that you strategically START planning, working and learning how to become a more informed consumer of every product you choose to purchase.

When evaluating a product, if any of the following guidelines are not met, leave that product in the store – do not buy it!

Two Cardinal Rules

  1. Never trust the wording which is on the packaged products.
  2. Always read the Nutrition Facts & Ingredients List.

4 Guidelines for Selecting Healthy Packaged Products

  1. Guidelines for Healthy Packaged ProductsFATS must be less than 20% of the total calories
  2. SODIUM (SALT) must be a 1:1 ratio or less with calories
  3. Added SUGAR must not be listed within the first 3 to 5 ingredients
  4. Avoid REFINED CARBOHYDRATES

EXCEPTIONS: Condiment selections may or may not meet the guidelines so use LOWER calorie, fat, sodium and sugar products.  Use a 4:1 ratio of micro-nutrient/macro-nutrient to calories.
