You Did It Too Soon or For The Wrong Reason
Too many people from my opinion are jumping into training to RUN distances greater than 3.1 miles too soon. They are chasing the bling, the status and bucket-list without proper guidance.
The ultimate goal from my opinion, should be improve our health & wellness not to damage it with overuse injuries like plantar fasciitis, IT Band Syndrome, Runners Knee, Shin Splints, hip issues and/or other problems.
PAIN IS NOT GAIN – PAIN MEANS INJURY AND IT CREATES A NEED FOR BETTER HEALTH & WELLNESS CARE.
Some have jumped in the deep end to drown or to barely survive completing 13.1, 26.2 miles at a pace they can train to walk faster than they run.
I want to help runners win and that is what I intend to do!
Whether some will admit this or not, you are damaging your heath which is not an improvement. It’s a set back! Be patient to get the weight off , get stronger so you too can run faster, longer and safer while using less energy.
When I see runners limping, that is not good. That is insane and desperate. Beast mode does not have anything to do with self-inflected pain.
Beast more should be about doing what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it without injury and without issue. It’s about getting more from your moments while improving you health!!!
All of that other crap about BEAST MODE is just that – crap. Beware and stay away from stuff which stinks.
It’s like the blind leading the blind. We would be surprised to see how many people have permanent knee/hip damage from pushing through the pain to try to do a half or full marathon. That is insane that a person would destroy their health and to follow the advise of others to do it because they did it slowly without issue. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND PATIENCE WITH PROPER WEIGHT LOSS, STRENGTH TRAINING AND COACHING ARE IMPORTANT.
Even Olympic and elite athletes train properly before they even attempt the marathon or half-marathon distances.
Just my opinion though.
I understand the passion to INSPIRE other people to do things they have never done before but there are patterns of performance which is becoming more and more evident. They are somewhat becoming just like the people they train with. If you are slow and you train slow, you are slow too. If you are fast and train with other who are faster, you are becoming that much faster too. The key is to have a coach or someone who can take you from where you are and help you improve safely and strategically. Too may people are giving poor advice. Training the body to do things it has never or seldom done is a science and one must have experience. I’m sure you will go see a doctor who does not have experience to help you win. Coaching should be the same. Everyone is not a coach even if they can how you how to do things that does not make them nor me a coach. Real coaches helps you to transform from the inside out.
For those of you who know me, you know I don’t sugar coat anything. That BEAST MODE mentality of pushing through pain must be eliminated.
We have to care about fulfilling our short and long term health GOALS and we must seek proper advice and coaching.
A person who can show you how to do something is not a coach, they are a mentor. A person who can give you good advice is an adviser.
A coach is unique and rare – they challenge you to unleash more of your potential from the inside out.
I’m not trying to put anyone down but I will never allow a mentor, adviser, counselor not teacher to coach me. When I need a coach, that is what I need! Therefore the person I select to coach me will be unique, rare and able to help me unleash more of my potential from the inside out with out wasting my time. They will help me to get maximum results in minimum time by design and purpose.
