The M-Wiggles Detox Blend 01-Granny

This blend is packed with 5 TOTAL SERVING of fruit & veggies and all you have to do is following these instructions, build this blend and consume it. This is a day worth of fruit & veggies in one meal. Spinach = 1 serving; Cilantro + lemon/lime = 1 serving; Apple = 1 serving; 1 cup of orange juice = 2 servings. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Spinach (stuffed)
  • 1/4 cup of Cilantro (stuffed)
  • 1/4 lemon or lime with or without skin (remove seeds)
  • 1 granny smith apple cored and chopped (the sweeter the better)
  • 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds
  • 1 cup of orange juice with pulp (sweetener)
  • 1/2 cup of water (or more water to make it creamy or more liquefied)

About the Ingredients 

  • spinach helps combat inflammatory problems, oxidative stress-related problems, cardiovascular problems, bone problems, and cancers at the same time
  • cilantro helps to remove heavy metals from the body
  • chia seeds is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids which helps to bond with and remove toxins such as bile salts which are released by the liver from the body.  The chia seeds helps rid the liver of fat soluble toxins by binding to them and passing them from the body.
  • granny smith apple – adds tart, sweetness and fiber to the blend
  • lemon help to improve the pH balance to put the body in a natural alkaline state while also improving indigestion, constipation and blood health
  • orange juice is used to sweeten the blend
  • water is used to help improve ingestion, digestion and elimination

Cooking/Serving Utensils:

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups (1, 1/2, 1/4)
  • Measuring Spoon (Tablespoon)
  • Knife (to cut lemon and apple)

Instructions:

Prepare, add and blend the ingredients immediately after your workout on the days of your fast.  Place the spinach, cilantro, orange juice and water into the blender and blend them until the mixture is a green juice-like consistency.  Stop the blender and add the remaining ingredients (lemon, apple, chia seeds).  Blend until creamy.

Additional/Optional foods which will add value, fuel, nutrients and taste to this meal:

  • Use any kind of apple – the sweeter the better
  • Replace the orange juice with water to lower the sugar levels
  • Add nuts to increase protein and fats
  • Adding a second Apple will increase fiber, satiety and sweetness plus approximately 72 additional calories of good fuel.
  • Add another cup of Spinach/Kale to make this blend more filling every cup is only about 7 calories of fuel.
